How to Travel with your Toys and Naughty Lingerie

Sex toys and naughty lingerie pieces are often private and fragile, making traveling with them more difficult. You have to think about people searching your bags if you travel via plane, and then there's always the careless of throwing of bags by the baggage handlers that have you worried for your contents anyway. Here are a few tips on how to travel with your goodies!

When you're packing up to go on a trip, whether it be via plane, train, or on a cruise line, there are a number of things that may concern you, including weight, contents, and your other necessities (I mean, a girl can't just pack a bag full of toys, she's got to take other things!). I often find that some of my favorite toys are more difficult to travel with since they're so heavy; so they take up my luggage weight limit along with the possibility that they may damage other things in my bag.

So! Here are a few tips to minimize your stress and get you on your way to pleasures wherever you may want to bring them:

1. Try not to pack heavy or bulky toys. This is a hard one for me, since some of my favorite toys like the Hitachi and nJoy Pure Wand/Plug are rather heavy. I rarely take these when I travel though, because they are made of metal and can damage other things in my bag (like cosmetics!). Leave behind the hefty ones for fun when you come back home.
2. Don't pack your toys on your carry-on. While we would hope that the airport security folks have good knowledge of sex toys so they don't search us in front of everybody else, it's a possibility that can ruin the fun for you with embarrassment.
3. Use velvet pouches or put your toys between layers of shirts. You want to keep your toys dry and safe in a hygenic environment, and that's best done either in dry isolation (like a velvet pouch) or in between dry shirts. Suitcase compartments are not recommended since they collect dust.
4. Keep your toys dry and clean at all times! If you are going to a particularly humid region, remember to keep your toys in the driest place possible -- you don't want bacteria growing there. If you're on a cruise liner or in some tropical area, wash the toys frequently and blot dry them (instead of air drying them) after washing to prevent bacterial growth.
5. Pack your lingerie in a jacket or a sweater. Expensive lingerie and luxury sets are as delicate as they are sexy. Keep them in between a soft jacket or sweater; if that's not possible, then pack them in your carry-on which will keep them safer. If you're packing something silky like a negligee, then you definitely want to wrap that in something soft (a towel or a scarf) to keep it from wrinkling up too much.
6. Pack silicone toys! Silicone toys are light, hygenic, and don't cause damage to themselves or to the things packed around them. They are your go-to travel toys. Just remember that they will accumulate some dust, so wash them when you get to your destination before use.
7. Always pre-clean toys before you pack them -- Even toys that haven't been used in a while! You want to keep your toys clean so that you can use them without worry; even if toys have been cleaned already, it's a good idea to give them a wash before traveling to ensure that they are clean. Suitcases can become humid or wet if it rains, making it easier for bacteria to grow. You have nothing to worry about if you've cleaned it free of bacteria (might be a good idea to clean them again at the hotel if it was really soaking wet rain, though).
8. Pack a variety. Take a dildo. Take a butt plug. Take a discreet vibrator. Then, take some pasties. Take a bottomless thong. Take cupless bras. You don't plan out your sexy and naughty times when you're planning for travel; it's best to be prepared for whatever sexy fun you might desire!
9. Don't forget the lube. Pack a small quantity of lube in travel bottles to stay slippery during your traveling fun! Toys, especially anal toys, are pretty hard to use without lube. So -- remember the lube!
