Tone Up! Yoga Position of the Week: Killer Hip Openers

How far can you spread your legs? Join me this week to try out a series of hip openers to help you get into those sex positions that you've never really been able to do! Stretch out those hips and hamstrings to relieve tight pelvises for increased sensitivity.
Keep in mind that achieving flexibility takes time so don't force yourself too hard during each session and work towards your goal on a daily basis.

The Pigeon:

Let's proceed from last week's downward dog position and move your right shin toward the front. Tilt your right knee toward your right wrist and right ankle toward your left wrist. Gradually move your hands forward until your head is rested on the mat. Take 10 deep breaths and repeat on the left side.

The Lizard:

Proceed from the Pigeon by lifting your right knee upwards and placing your right foot on the right of your right hand. Try to keep your other leg straight without locking your knees. Take 10 deep breaths and repeat on the left side.

Seated Wide Leg Straddle:

Sit up tall on the mat and open legs wide to your sides until you feel some tension. However, do not overdo it to prevent discomfort. Walk your hands forward between the legs while elongating the torso. Stay for 10 long deep breaths. You can make it more challenging by grabbing your feet or even stretching beyond your feet.

Happy Baby:

Lie down on your back and bend your right knee toward your chest. Grab the outer edge of your right foot with your right hand, and place your right knee toward the right armpit. Rock softly from side to side and stay in this position for 5 deep breaths. Repeat on the left side. For a full Happy Baby, repeat the position with both legs raised and spread apart. You should feel a slight stretch at first.


Reclining Goddess:

Place a yoga block on the mat for your shoulder blades and your head. Gradually lean back from a sitting position and adjust the blocks accordingly.Place your feet together with the knees apart, allow arms to relax on either side or above your head and stay for 10 deep breaths.


Fun sex positions for those that stretch:


Splitting Bamboo - allows for deep penetration and is a great way to get your G-spot poked. Once you become more flexible, try putting both legs over his shoulders for an even more intense experience.
